As pet owners, we want to do everything we can to keep our furry friends healthy and happy. However, sometimes unexpected emergencies can arise, and it's important to know the warning signs to look out for. Learn the signs of a pet emergency and what you can do should an emergency arise.

We accept pet emergencies on a case-by-case basis. Please call us at 513-469-7654 to confirm if we can get your pet in for an emergency visit. If we cannot see your pet, we will refer you to an emergency pet hospital. Please see the "After Hours Emergency Care" section below.

What is Considered a Pet Emergency

By knowing the signs of a pet emergency, you can act quickly and potentially prevent a minor issue from becoming a major one. It's also important to note that some pets may not show obvious signs of distress, so it's crucial to be aware of any changes in their behavior or appearance.

Common Pet Emergency Warning Signs

Here are some of the most common warning signs of a pet emergency:

Difficulty breathing or excessive panting
Vomiting or diarrhea that lasts for more than 24 hours
Inability to urinate or defecate
Severe lethargy or weakness
Loss of appetite or refusal to eat
Excessive drooling or foaming at the mouth
Seizures or convulsions
Bleeding or wounds that won't stop bleeding
Difficulty standing or walking
Unusual behavior or aggression
Swollen or bloated abdomen
Pale gums or tongue
Ingestion of a toxic substance or foreign object
